SOME schools across Worcestershire will be closed or partially closed today, (March 26), because of strike action.
Teachers belonging to the National Union of Teachers (NUT) will walk out in a row over working conditions, pay and pensions.
The NUT has said teachers are demoralised by proposed changes to their working conditions and warns of future staff shortages because so many are leaving the profession.
Among the schools closing for the day are Aston Fields Middle School, Catshill First School and Nursery, Catshill Middle School, Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School, and Walkwood CE Middle School.
Several schools are expected to be only partially closed during the walkout. These schools are:
Droitwich
Westacre Middle School - School is closed to all Year 7 children and selected classes in Year 5.
Redditch
Beech Class at Abbeywood First School is closed all day to pupils while its Maple Class will close at 1pm.
Crown Meadow First School and Nursery - closed to class 11 (year 4) only.
Ridgeway Middle School is closed to youngsters in year five, seven and eight. Year six will be open as normal.
Bromsgrove
South Bromsgrove High School is open to all year groups, except year nine.
Rigby Hall School - open only to primary and 4GMY pupils.
