CHILDREN at St Joseph’s Primary School in Droitwich explored some exciting ways to read recently, when they were paid a visit by a circus skills company.
The year three and four pupils took part in a workshop run by Birmingham-based Rogue Play, where they learnt tricks with hula hoops, practised acrobatic stunts on mats and even had a go on the trapeze.
The school organised the workshop as a fun way of showing that the children, who are currently reading Roald Dahl’s The Twits, could read anywhere, anytime, even upside down.
Helen Smith, PE coordinator for St Joseph’s, said: “The children absolutely loved the workshops, especially the trapeze. It was brilliant to see all the children so engaged and keen to take part in a one-off workshop.”
