DEVELOPER David Wilson Homes, has submitted an official planning application to redevelop the Worcester Hunt Kennels site in Fernhill Heath, into 88 homes.

The development would see the existing stables and longroom building in the centre of the site being converted into housing, as well as the construction of further buildings.

Jon Rowson, planning manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “The hunt kennels site, which borders existing development and is close to local services, is wholly suited to deliver some of the district’s much-needed new homes. We have carefully considered our plans to ensure we achieve a design and layout that complements existing neighbours and sits comfortably within the local landscape.

A public exhibition was held in September of last year, and 136 local residents came to look at the proposals and give their feedback.

Mr Rowson added: “We are pleased we received some local support, particularly about the spacious nature of our proposals and the appropriate location of this site for new housing, particularly when compared to other possible development sites in the village.”
