AN actress from Droitwich Spa who has just finished a run in Calendar Girls at the Swan Theatre in Worcester, is turning her skills to a more nuanced performance, with a production of Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’ by the Swan Theatre Amateur Company.

Louise Broad has one of the lead roles in the production at the Swan Studio, which tells the story of the Keller and Deever families who are living with the legacy of their aeroplane parts firm, which turned out defective parts during world war two killing 21 pilots.

Herbert Deever went to prison, while Chris Keller profited from the company and the play deals with the fall out of their actions.

Ms Broad said: “It’s a powerful drama, set in the 1940's in America, and is about family, life, death and the ethics of profiteering and is the first great play from one of the finest playwrights of the twentieth century. It is certainly quite different to some of the light hearted scenes in Calendar Girls.

“Having one of the principle parts in 'All My Sons' is both a pleasure and a challenge, but with a cast of 10, a great director in Tim Crowe and back stage and technical crew, we have built close bonds and support each other brilliantly. It is great to see that tickets are already selling quickly for all of the performances.

“As well as performing at the Studio, we have also been asked to perform it at Worcester Grammar School, to aid the students in GCSE course work, which will be a great experience for all."
