SEVERN Trent Water is looking for people to take part in this year's apprenticeship scheme.
It is open to anyone, as long as you have – or are expecting to achieve this year – at least five GCSEs or equivalent at grades A* to C , including maths and English.
Opportunities are available for 16 successful candidates to do a two-year operational technician apprenticeship, or a four-year advanced apprenticeship in electrical, maintenance or instrumentation skills.
Michelle Prior is the co-ordinator for Severn Trent’s apprenticeship scheme. She said: "We’re always hearing how much it costs to go to university now and how many young people are unemployed. Working as an apprentice for Severn Trent would avoid all the student debt and would give you practical on-the-job training with a responsible company.
“Not only will you be paid a salary from day one, you’ll get paid holidays too. And even better news; you’ll be a permanent employee with us from the start of your apprenticeship."
