Droitwich shopping scheme gets off to flying start

First published in Local

A SCHEME to encourage people to shop in Droitwich Spa has started well.

The Droitwich Spa Devotion Loyalty Scheme has now held its first monthly draw after a great response from businesses and shoppers.

The scheme, organised by Droitwich Spa Business Forum, has 65 stores signed up and is aimed at helping existing firms and rewarding those buying locally.

The initiate consists of a card that will have stamps fixed to it by participating stores.

When a shopper’s card is full with stamps it can be entered into a draw each month for a minimum of £25 of vouchers to be spent with the participating businesses.

The winner of the first prize of a dinner for four with sparkling wine was Mrs Mavis Healey, who was presented with her voucher on February 1 at St Andrews Town Hotel.

Keith Westray , from Droitwich Spa Business Forum, said “Shoppers are asking for their stamps and as the scheme only started just before new year the odds of winning are very good. So it is really worth supporting local businesses, filling in the cards, and entering the draw.”

The second prize winner, Mrs Maureen Hartridge, has won £25 of shopping vouchers.

The third prize of a four ball game of golf at the Gaudet Luce Golf Club was won by a non-golfer who kindly donated the prize back for next month's draw.
