A BOOK to inspire businesses in the district to grow has been launched.

Grow in Wychavon, which tells the stories of 52 successful businesses and entrepreneurs, was unveiled on Friday, January 17.

The book, developed by Wychavon District Council, is believed to be the first of its kind and brings together inspirational stories of success and challenges, including business lessons and what makes the area such a great place to do business.

Jack Hegarty, managing director at the council, said: “We’re so pleased to bring together these stories in one place. Creating a fantastic place to do business is our number one aim and we hope these stories will inspire future businesses to start up or relocate here.”

Speaking at the launch event at The Regal Cinema in Evesham, Sir Peter Luff MP said: “There is so much on offer here in Wychavon. The book boils it down very succinctly to five key features: central location, countryside, culture, competent workforce and a great council.”

The launch event was attended by the businesses featured in the book, local MPs and representatives from business support agencies like the Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses.

Businesses also discussed how they could help offer more placements and apprenticeships to foster and support local talent.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the book can visit growinwychavon.co.uk or can purchase a book from the Civic Centre in Pershore, Droitwich Library or Evesham Community Contact Centre for £9.95.
