TIME is running out for photographers in Droitwich to enter McCarthy & Stone’s Through a Lens competition to earn the chance to see their work published for all to see.

The best entrants will win a cash prize and their work unveiled at Horton Mill Court’s grand opening. The competition provides those over 60 with the opportunity to explore the town outside their front doors and capture on film the very best that Droitwich has to offer. The finalists will be invited to attend a special ceremony when the development opens, with the winning photograph being unveiled in March.

Gill Sabin, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “Whether you’re a keen amateur, or just enjoy photography in your spare time – we really want to see what you can do.

“The entries so far have been of an amazing standard and show so many hidden treasures in and around Droitwich that we can’t wait to share. However, we are well aware that there could be even more talent out there just waiting to be unearthed, so would urge anyone still wanting to enter not to delay and to send their images in to us.”

The chosen winner will receive a £350 cheque, while the two runners up will receive a £100 cheque each.

Those wishing to take part should email their favourite photos, along with their contact details to Droitwichthroughalens@htpr.com, or post to Droitwich Through a Lens, C/O Haslimann Taylor, 2nd Floor, Lancaster House, 67 Newhall Street, Birmingham, B3 1NQ.

Entries should be submitted no later than midnight on Friday, January 31. All entrants should be aged 60 or over, or be turning 60 prior to the final deadline.
