BIKERS in Redditch and Bromsgrove are being invited to enhance their winter motorcycling skills by attending a special course.

The course, by the Safer Roads Partnership, is for bikers who want to brush up on their biking skills, gain more confidence or become a better rider in preparation for their full test.

It is generally run as a half day or full day course and is tailored to the needs of individual riders.

Anna Higgins, from the Safer Roads Partnership, said: “The half-day winter riding course offers bikers all the benefits of our normal Take Control course, covering elements such as braking techniques, counter steering, risk management and improved handling skills.

"However, instructors will tailor the course to include winter riding tips and guidance to help riders stay safe on the roads over the winter months.

“The sessions are available to riders of all ages and abilities but we’d particularly welcome new or inexperienced riders and feel that they would really benefit from the course and the chance to gain new skills and experience with a trained instructor which will be invaluable out on the roads.

"As the course is subsidised by the partnership – with support from NHS Worcestershire Public Health – it offers fantastic value when compared with the usual cost of motorcycle or moped skills training.”

The course is being held at The Rubicon Centre in Redditch on Sunday, January 5 from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

It costs just £10 and anyone interested must pre-book by calling 01527 500 333.
