Mistletoe and mince pies on the menu for wildlife volunteers
2:40pm Tuesday 3rd December 2013 in Local
MISTLETOE and mince pies are on the menu at an evening meeting of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s volunteer supporter group in Droitwich.
The talk, given by national mistletoe expert Jonathan Briggs, will feature the unusual biology of this Christmas-related plant along with how it became entrenched in popular winter customs and traditions.
The meeting and talk will be held at the group’s usual venue of the Methodist Church Hall, Worcester Road, on Monday, December 9 at 7.30pm.
John Holder, organiser of the group’s talks, said: “There’s more to mistletoe than just Christmas kisses and we’re really looking forward to this festive evening of mistletoe and mince pies to find out why."
Volunteers of the Droitwich supporter group organise talks, walks and practical conservation work at nearby nature reserves.
Entry for the next event costs £2. More information can be found at worcswildlifetrust.co.uk
