Town children's centre praised in Ofsted inspection

A TOWN children’s centre is amongst those graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted inspectors.
Wychavon's children's centres, which include WANDS in Droitwich as well as Orchard Vale in Evesham and Blossom Vale in Pershore, have achieved the grade in Worcestershire's first group Ofsted inspection.
The centres are managed by Worcestershire County Council and provide a wide range of activities and support services for families with young children.
The centres cover a large geographical area of 256 square miles and contain 5,743 children under five, the greatest number of any yet to be inspected in England.
During the inspection, which took place between September 18 and 19, the four Ofsted inspectors praised the well qualified and highly committed staff team and recognised that safeguarding is at the forefront of their work with children and vulnerable families.
Commenting on the success, Kate Jones, children's centres district manager, said: "We all feel very proud that our work with children and families has been recognised in this way, especially as it seems to be even harder to achieve a 'good' outcome under the new Ofsted inspection framework.”
