New Raven Hotel plans to go on display
2:17pm Tuesday 27th August 2013 in Local
REVISED plans to breathe new life into Droitwich Spa’s iconic Raven Hotel site will go on display tomorrow.
Updated proposals will be on show at Droitwich’s Tourist Information Centre, St Richard’s House, Victoria Square, until Saturday (August 30). The exhibition will be available from 10am to 4pm during the week and from 10am to 1.30pm on Saturday.
The new display will show changes that have been made to the residential element of the proposal situated to the rear of the current hotel.
Another hotel on the Raven site is unlikely, but developers are discussing the possibility of a national pub group or a restaurant occupying the ground floor of the historic building.
For those who can’t visit the centre, the display material will be kept by Droitwich Spa Town Council from September 2.
The changes follow a previous public consultation in May.
Developers hope plans for the property will bring more visitors and jobs to the town centre. Conservation architects have also been brought in to make sure designs fit the current building.
The Raven has been closed since January 2010 when a decision was taken to move all business from the hotel in St Andrew's Street to sister hotel The Chateau Impney.
Now, Comparo Limited, a joint venture partner of new owners, Greyfort Properties Limited, is preparing plans to bring life back into the original 16th century manor house and surrounding land.
The display of the latest proposals will be unmanned. Anyone with queries is invited to contact Matt Seaman at Origin3 at email@example.com
