A DRIVER has appeared at Worcester Crown Court accused of causing the death of another motorist in rush-hour collision near Droitwich Spa.
Bernard Doe, 61, of Waterloo Street, Cheltenham, was to have entered a plea today but the case was adjourned until July 5 for expert evidence to be considered.
The case was brought after a crash on June 15 last year after a Citroen C3 driven by 46-year-old James Airns, of Evesham, was in collision with a tractor and trailer driven by Mr Doe.
The A38 near the Copcut Elm roundabout was closed for several hours. Mr Airns was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with multiple injuries but died on July 1.
Defence counsel Peter Fortune told Judge Michael Cullum that expert evidence was being sought about the vehicle being driven by the accused. A trial date was set for November 18.
