Group pays tribute to The Count Basie Orchestra

AS part of a Tribute to the Swing Bands the  Worcestershire Jazz Orchestra will pay tribute to The Count Basie Orchestra.

This 18-piece orchestra, which has attracted some of the midlands top musicians, will be joined on the evening by popular local vocalist Gary Rutter.

The tight ensemble and full bodied sound of the Basie band gained increasing popularity in the late 50s and the group will play a selection of favourites from the original compositions.

The concert is at The Droitwich British Legion, Salwarpe Road, on Friday April 12.

It starts at 8pm and tickets, costing £6, will be available on the door.
