THE Norbury Theatre in Droitwich has played host to around 170 people at a special pantomime performance.

A show of Jack and The Beanstalk was hosted and sponsored by Droitwich Lions Club who invited a number of groups to see the performance.

Guests from Kingfield Day Centre, Barnardo’s and The Lighthouse Group, their carers and helpers were joined by a number of elderly people who live alone.

Lions president Phil Wallis said: “Our work in the local community is not limited to raising money to help local good causes but helping the disadvantaged, handicapped and the elderly plays a big part in our activities. All our guests had a great time and several said that they enjoyed it so much that they planned to see the show again before it ends. We were also pleased to support our local amateur theatre company.”

The panto at the Norbury Theatre, Friar Street, Droitwich, runs until Saturday, January 26.
