Officers yesterday appeared before Worcester magistrates to apply for a custody extension, which was granted, which means the man can be held in custody until tomorrow morning.

Mr Locke, aged 39, of Wych Road, Droitwich, was found by paramedics outside 42a Teme Road, Tolladine, Worcester, on Wednesday and was pronoucned dead a short time later.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as the result of a stab wound to the torso.
