MEMBERS of Droitwich Lions Club are gearing up for a busy run up to Christmas as they prepare to bring Santa to the town.

The group will again be running the popular Santa sleigh tour around the streets of Droitwich.

The festive tour, which will raise charity cash, will add to the Santa’s grotto in St Andrews shopping centre that has also been organised by members.

The grotto will be open throughout December in the former Droitwich Carpets shop in St Andrew’s Street.

During Christmas week, it will be open most days until Christmas eve when it will open for just the morning. Entrance is free although donations will be welcome.

Santa’s sleigh will be out in the town during December when the Lions and the Rotary Club of Droitwich will both help Santa to visit as many local children as possible. They will also be helped by supporters from several other local organisations. This popular event is always eagerly anticipated by children and, weather permitting, Santa will be out and about each evening until December 23.

This year Droitwich Lions will be helping children’s charities including Acorns and Worcester’s Snoezelen Centre, which is a multi-sensory day centre for people with severe learning disabilities.
