Popular village shop to hold charity Christmas fair

A POPULAR village store in Ombersley is set to hold its annual Christmas fair in aid of British Heart Foundation.

Checketts Fine Foods of Ombersley will welcome visitors to the event on Wednesday, December 5 from 6 - 9pm.

People will have the opportunity to order everything they need to create the perfect festive menu, from turkeys and homemade chipolatas to delicious deli delights for the ultimate Christmas buffet.

Visitors can enjoy festive food and wine tasters, meet Santa and be entertained by Ombersley school and village choirs.

The event will also feature cookery demonstrations using local produce from the shop and a gift department and marquee filled with handmade crafts.

There will be a raffle and barbecue with all proceeds being donated to British Heart Foundation.

Rachel Checketts, who is organising the evening of festive fun, said: “We are looking to make Christmas run smoothly for everyone, with an evening of festivity where the little ones can meet Santa whilst the grown ups enjoy a glass of mulled wine and indulge in the spirit of Christmas. Everything you need to make Christmas perfectly scrumptious can be found at our Christmas village fayre.”
