SIR – It’s been obvious for quite some time that there’s something wrong with the banks – and I’m no expert on banking.

I have a hell of a job just trying to hang on to my bit of a pension.

Now Barclays has had a very heavy fine and the boss said he would forfeit his bonus and has stepped down.

The fact that he had a bonus in the first place is wrong because if there’s a bonus it should be paid to all the workers who work for the company.

In the past the banks have been able to pay themselves huge bonuses and it’s easy for them because it’s other people’s money.

All bonuses should be banned and if they’ve got spare money it should go to the savers and people who invest in the bank.
