SIR – I recently enjoyed a great evening of live theatre – Shakespeare at the Commandery where I enjoyed watching As You Like It.
While I appreciate that times are hard, I feel Worcester residents are missing out on wonderful shows not only at the Commandery but also at the Swan Theatre and Huntingdon Hall.
Worcester is privileged to have some great venues so where are the people who fought years ago to keep them open because they are not putting their bums on seats now when it counts.
People seem prepared to pay a lot of money to go further afield to Malvern, Birmingham or London but do not appreciate what is being performed on their doorstep.
I appeal to the residents of Worcester and the surrounding area to support their local theatre groups.
Use it or lose it, your local performing arts venues need you. Where is the British spirit? Wrap up warm, grab the brolly and go down to the Commandery and see some great theatre.
