SIR – I read with interest that Sainsbury’s still fails to admit what its plans are for its derelict sites in St John’s.
It is an utter disgrace that it has been allowed to blight the street for so many years. I trust Sainsbury’s has been paying tax on these empty properties. Perhaps the council would care to confirm this.
If not, it is very unfair to every taxpayer in the county who pays council or business tax.
