SIR - I always look forward to reading Michael Grundy's page where he browse through pages of your archives. It was particularly poignant for me to see the report of the death of my grandfather Sgt Major William Henry Whitehouse from injuries received at the battle of Neuve Chappelle in the WW1. The sad postscript to this was that it appears his widow couldn't cope with his death and fairly soon was admitted to Powick Mental Hospital where she later died.
A few months ago I was disappointed to read that another ancestor, Phebe Whitehouse had been sentenced to six months hard labour for stealing aprons 250 years ago!
If anyone else thinks they are related to these people I would be delighted if they got in touch. I think the family originated from the Kidderminster area.
