Salwarpe WI
after welcoming visitors Shirley Willis, the president, hurried on with the business matters, which included reports from the Corbett Group Meeting, the Carbon Challenge, Book Club and UFO (Craft) Group.
We were delighted to welcome Carol Hughes, from Salwarpe church, who gave us some historical information about the Salwarpe fete, which provides funds for our local churches. She thanked Salwarpe WI for providing the afternoon teas over the years and was pleased that we had agreed to help again this year on August 16.
Our main speaker for the evening was Teresa Littlewood who promoted the virtues of aloe vera. As usual the meeting continued with coffee, cakes and chat and members were invited to put coins against the winning competition items.
We welcome visitors to any of our meetings and the next one is on Monday, May 12. If you would like any further information please contact Shirley Willis on 01905 774727.
