CHARITY was the big winner after a coffee morning was held in the town.

The mayoress of Droitwich Spa, Dorothy Morris, hosted the event, which was held at the Raven Hotel in aid of the mayor's charities - the Air Cadets, Army Cadet Troop and Young Carers.

More than 80 people attended the coffee morning and helped raise around £500 towards the charities thanks to a raffle.

Mrs Morris said: "I'd like to thank the Raven Hotel and all who attended. It was an enjoyable morning where people could relax, have a coffee, a natter and listen to Sean Best at the piano."
