A vote of thanks

A GRATEFUL patient, who was airlifted from the scene of a serious road accident, has personally thanked the flight crew who came to her rescue.
Netty Kitson, from Belbroughton, near Bromsgrove, received multiple fractures in the accident involving the BMW she was driving and a lorry. The accident happened near Droitwich Spa on Christmas Eve 2007. Ambulance crews, including the flight crew from the County Air Ambulance, treated Netty, who was trapped in her car for more than an hour.
When she was finally released, Netty was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham for specialist treatment.
Netty is now well on the road to recovery and made a point of contacting the County Air Ambulance to arrange a visit to meet the crew and thank them for coming to her rescue.
Praising the work of the local Air Ambulance charity, Netty said: "It's really fantastic to meet the flight crew and thank them personally for coming to my rescue a few months ago. It's not until you need them, that you realise how vital the Air Ambulance charity really is to our community. I can't thank them enough for what they did for me."

Annie Newell, area fundraising coordinator for the County Air Ambulance, was delighted to welcome Netty to the base.
She said: "Everyone connected with the charity is so pleased that Netty is on her way to full recovery. After she contacted us, we wasted no time in making arrangements for her to visit the Strensham base and meet the crew."
The County Air Ambulance operates across the Midlands and Welsh border region and receives no government or lottery funding. The charity needs to raise £5.6million every year to ensure the life saving helicopter service continues to fly across the region.
