Canal funding fears
SOMEONE is fibbing and I don't think it's the Advertiser.
In recent years local newspapers regularly carried announcements from our MP, district councillors and other worthies that plans for reopening Droitwich canals were finalised, all finances banked and actual work imminent.
This news ensured re-election of those politicians. But last week you told us our MP is concerned the funds are not secure and may be cancelled. As he and his colleagues made regular statements otherwise, via the newspapers, they should identify those officials who gave them false promises.
If previous news was mere speculative spin, someone should do the honourable thing and resign.
