FREIGHT forwarding firm KMB Shipping Group celebrated its 30th birthday last week.

To help mark the milestone, the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler, visited the Castle Mill offices on December 6.

Paul Hull, European and Irish director at KMB Shipping Group, said: “Thirty successful years of trading in the Black Country is an incredible milestone, and we are honoured to have the Mayor of Dudley here to join us in our celebrations.

“Our operations team is stronger than ever, and along with our valued customers, is key to bringing KMB Shipping Group to where we are today.”

KMB Shipping Group was established in 1987 in Oldbury, moving to Burnt Tree in 1992.

Originally comprising of two companies - Daily Irish Services and KMB Intermodal - with less than eight employees in total, the two were merged in 2009 to create the KMB Shipping Group.

Now, with twice as many employees, the company has grown from strength to strength, and expanded its services from freight forwarding to providing total transport solutions, including worldwide shipping, export documentation and packing, and customs insurance.
