Blakelands Country House, near Stourbridge, has announced wedding bookings have doubled over the last three years, with dates in 2017 nearly fully booked.

The wedding venue, which is owned by the Morgan family, has undergone major refurbishments over the past few years and has recently been granted a new civil wedding license for their Victorian Barn, making it one of the largest civil ceremony venues in the county.

Owner, Paul Morgan, said: “We are overjoyed by the news and thrilled that next year is already proving so popular. We even have 30 bookings for 2018 and people are starting to enquire about 2019.

"We love what we do and it makes us so happy when we get such lovely comments back from our brides and grooms. We always try to tailor each wedding to the individual needs of our couples and I think it’s that flexibility and personal service that they really appreciate.”

As many couples have been surprised that next year is already nearly fully booked, the owners have decided to hold an open house event on Saturday August 6, to encourage couples to have a look around and to book for 2018.

Paul continued: “We never want to disappoint people, especially if they have a set date in mind for their wedding. So with the diary filling up fast, we want to encourage couples to start thinking ahead to 2018, so that they can pick their preferred date.

"If they reserve a wedding date for 2018, they can choose a voucher to either have £180 off their wedding fee; free canapes or a free prosecco upgrade for their wedding toast.”

The house will be open between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday August 6 and admission is free of charge.

The house and barn are available on an exclusive use basis, with a dining capacity of 120 guests and has accommodation for up to 30 people.

Blakelands Country House is located in Halfpenny Green, near Wombourne and is signposted off the A449 and A458.
