A KIDDERMINSTER business has won a national award for its eco-friendly products.

Brockway Carpets won the ‘British Wool Carpet Award’ in the Campaign for Wool’s first International Wool Carpet & Rug Awards 2016 with its ‘Rare Breeds’ collection.

The award was presented at the Wool Floor Show at Stamford Bridge in London on March 23.

Judge Tim Booth, of the British Wool Marketing Board, said: "British Wool was looking for a carpet range that encompassed the values of 'planet-friendly’.

"Brockway met those aspirations perfectly, using 100 per cent wool from British rare sheep breeds, using no dyes whatsoever and with an enviro-bac backing, it presented a perfect package.

"We felt that it was a worthy winner and a stylish one too. We congratulate the Brockway team on their success."

Brockway’s chairman Charles Annable said: "We are so proud and honoured to receive this award for these exceptional carpets, which are very popular with people looking for a natural effect."
