A NEW recruitment firm has opened in Stourbridge with the aim of helping Black Country residents get back into work.

Black Country Recruitment, based in High Street, was opened earlier this month by Margot James, who has been the town's MP for the past five years.

Gemma Wigley, director of the newly created business, said: “Margot offered some really helpful advice to us, as we are a new company “Our aim is to try and help local people get back into either permanent or temporary positions, as both myself and Joe Howl, my fellow director, have a back ground in this area.

“We have ourselves taken on a lady who was with In Training and are putting her though an NVQ Business studies course as well as giving her a position in the company to get her back into work.”

The firm has also given its backing to the charity We Love Carers, which provides a range of support, advice and information services throughout Dudley borough.

A fundraising event, where local businesses will be invited to join together and donate to the cause, will be taking place at the firm’s premises in April.

Mrs Wigley added: “We will also be making an end of the financial year donation to the charity which, as a parent of a child who has special needs, is very close to my heart.”
