Top prizes up for grabs in Worcestershire Wildlife Trust raffle

The local conservation charity is launching a raffle to help raise funds for local wildlife. The trust owns and manages more than 70 nature reserves across the county and works with local communities to help create a better environment for us all.

Becky Bradshaw-King, trust fundraising assistant, said: “This is our first raffle in over five years and we’re hoping it will raise lots of money to help our work across Worcestershire.

“There are some fantastic prizes, most of which have been generously donated by local businesses. Everyone who buys a ticket has the chance of winning £500 in cash, vouchers worth £250 towards nature or eco holidays from NatureTrek and Responsibletravel.com, a painting by local wildlife artist Valerie Briggs or binoculars from In-Focus, to name just a few.

“With reserves and projects throughout the county, the raffle will help to raise money for wildlife near you.”

Other prizes include a night’s B&B at Crowle’s ‘The Green Farm’, a bird table from Blooms Garden Centre, a cheese hamper from Ansteys, Sony desktop speakers from Brown & Fincher, tickets to Worcestershire County Cricket Club, family tickets to West Midlands Safari Park, a 12 month subscription to Worcestershire Life magazine, a Kate Humble-signed wildlife gardening book and a Webbs Garden Centre voucher.

As well as undertaking conservation work on its own reserves the trust also advises landowners how best to manage their land for wildlife, works with schools, and with local authorities and communities to help reconnect fragmented habitats for wildlife to move through.

Tickets are available from worcswildlifetrust.co.uk, the trust’s headquarters at Lower Smite Farm or from trust events throughout the summer. They cost £1 (books cost £5).
