BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid chaired a Wythall Floods Advice Forum for residents affected by the flash floods.

Mr Javid chaired the forum on Friday, June 15, to offer advice to residents hit by the unprecedented rainfall at the end of May.

He said: “I was grateful to all of my constituents for taking this time out of what must be a deeply distressing period.

"Thanks also to all of the panellists; their advice was invaluable.

“I understand the scale of the task that now lies before us, and I want to assure you that I’ll be with this community every step of the way.

“Please do get in touch with me on sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk or 0207 219 0930 if there is anything more I can do to help.”

The panel also included Bromsgrove District Council leader Geoff Denaro, Wythall county councillor Adam Kent, cabinet member for the environment at county council Tony Miller, Laura Hughes from the Association of British Insurers, and Heather Shepherd from the National Flood Forum.

Councillor Denaro said: “I was delighted by the turnout and the positive response from our residents to the evidence of all agencies working together to deal with this local disaster.”
