BLACK History Month will be marked at Bromsgrove's Artrix with a one-woman play which will tackle the subject of body image and identity.

The taboo subject of skin lightening and body image is being brought to the stage by Birmingham-based playwright and performer Marlene McKenzie.

Funded by Bromsgrove District Council’s Equality and Diversity fund, her play, titled LITE, explores the theme of identity and self-image through a young black woman’s eyes.

It combines drama, humour, pathos and vulnerability to explore the issues of identity, before finishing with a question and answer session.

Tickets for LITE at Artrix on Friday, October 20, at 7.30pm, are £8 each and can be purchased online at artrix.co.uk or on 01527 577330.
