DELIGHTED children in Lickey have celebrated the re-opening of their school playing field, which was previously so boggy they were unable to play on it.
Lickey Hills Primary School and Nursery re-opened their three-acre pitch on June 2 after public votes bagged them £5,000 in the Tesco Bags of Help scheme to fix a natural spring.
School business manager Julie Phillips said: “We are extremely fortunate to have such an amazing field.
“Now the drainage problem has finally been resolved with the help of the Tesco Bags of Help appeal, we are delighted that this incredible outdoor space can now be enjoyed by the children and the local community all year round."
