THIS year's Forget Me Not Walk raised a mighty £5,500 to help Bromsgrove charity Bloodwise beat blood cancer.

The event on June 11 set off from Sanders Park and took fundraisers through medieval tracks, countryside footpaths and watering holes.

The walk brought Bloodwise's fundraising total to a colossal £982,000, putting it within arm's reach of its 30-year £1million goal.

Charity chairman Nicole Harris said: "The race has grown bigger each year and many people have taken part year after year. It is very heartwarming and we are very grateful for the generosity of the Bromsgrove public."
