A FAULT with the signalling system in the Bromsgrove area caused disruption to train journeys for several hours today.

Trains were delayed for up to 30 minutes or cancelled between 8am and 1pm while engineers workedto restore the signalling on the morning of Wednesday, May 17.

Some trains may also divert via Worcester, extending journey times, National Rail has warned.

Routes affected include services from Birmingham New Street and Worcester and Cheltenham Spa.

Replacement road transport was put in place on routes between Bromsgrove and Longbridge, Bromsgrove, Droitwich Spa and Worcester Foregate Street, and Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford - calling at all intermediate stations.

All lines are now open at Bromsgrove and Network Rail has apologised for any incovenience caused.
