A HAGLEY gift shop has been shortlisted for a second national award as staff member Sarah Kiely has made the final six of in the ‘Employee of the Year’ category.

Last year, Lily Blue Gifts and Home took the trophy for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the annual Greats Retail Awards after beating five businesses from across the Midlands, the North and Scotland to the title.

And the Worcester Road-based store is hoping for a repeat performance at a glitzy ceremony in London on May 4.

Sarah said: “I was absolutely flabbergasted to hear that I had been shortlisted as a finalist. It feels like a real honour to be recognised for doing a job that you really love.

“My fingers are crossed for May I hope to bring back another trophy for Lily Blue.”

Sarah has been working at the shop for three years and has been nominated for her hard work, commitment and tendency to go above and beyond for customers and other staff members.

Angela Jones, owner of Lily Blue, said: “I’m thrilled that Sarah has received this national recognition for all her hard work. She is a much-valued member of staff and she’s universally loved by all of our customers.

“I am often stopped in the village by people that want to tell me how kind Sarah has been and how lucky I am to have found such a gem. I couldn’t agree more and we’re all wishing her the best of luck.”
