STUDENTS and staff at a Bromsgrove school are celebrating two years of hard work paying off, after receiving a 'good' result in their most recent Ofsted inspection.

Catshill Middle School was identified as 'requiring improvement' in its last inspection in May 2014, and was advised to start work on improving the achievement of its pupils, quality of teaching and its leadership and management.

But the school has now been identified as having a 'strong climate for learning', following Ofsted's inspection in November last year, while pupils were described as 'polite, courteous and respectful'.

A follow-up report stated that the relationship between teachers and pupils was 'very positive' and that pupils learned 'from each other as well as from their teachers'.

Paul Essenhigh, executive headteacher at the Meadow Road school, said: "Staff, pupils and parents at Catshill Middle School are overjoyed with the recent good Ofsted report published last week. This further goes to show the tremendous achievements and opportunities being afforded the children attending Catshill Middle School."
