TWO gas leaks have forced a road in Blackwell to close for repairs.

National Grid is advising motorists and residents that Greenhill, Blackwell, is closed as of Thursday (October 20) afternoon, while engineers repair two gas leaks.

The road is closed from the junction with B4094 Alcester Road and the junction with Linthurst Newtown.

A diversion route is in place via Linthurst Newtown, Blackwell Road, Fiery Hill Road, Brookhouse Road, Littleheath Lane and Alcester Road.

National Grid spokesperson Sara Wilcox said: "Engineers are repairing a pipe in the centre of the road.

"To keep staff and road-users safe it has been necessary to close the road while the work is underway.

"It is not known exactly how long the repairs will take at this stage.

"However, every effort is being made to complete work as soon as possible.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will keep motorists and residents updated."
