CHURCHGOERS in Rubery have decided that church should be messier, and so have organised a monthly event for visitors to sing, create, play and chat.

St Chad's Church's new Messy Church events will include singing, jumping around, bible stories, crafts, games and time to talk with friends.

Starting on October 7, Messy Church will be held on the first Friday of every month from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Reverend Claire Turner, vicar at St Chad's, said: "All over the country churches have started filling their buildings with glue, glitter, food and fun as they explore life and faith with children and their families. We’re really excited to be joining the Messy Church family and hope that the St Chad’s Messy Church will provide lots of new ways for people to get to know the church community."

The events are free to attend and all are welcome. Doors will open from 3.15pm and refreshments will be available, as well as a light tea, which will be served at the end.
