A NURSERY, based in Wythall and Lickey, has scooped a national award at a glittering ceremony, for its contribution to pre-school education.
The Wendy House Day Nursery received the award on Saturday evening (September 24) at the Nursery World Awards at The Brewery in London.
The nursery was congratulated on its innovative Foundation Unit concept, which guarantees children a further year of pre-school education in full-time education before they start school.
Children in Foundation Unit develop skills in early numeracy and literacy, as well as a positive attitude to learning, from an earlier age.
Nursery owner Victoria Vann said: "Foundation Unit is something we are immensely proud of at The Wendy House and demonstrates that high quality pre-school education can be delivered in a nursery environment.
"Our dedicated team is committed to providing the best possible outcomes for all children and I am absolutely delighted that our achievements have been recognised in the Nursery World Awards."
