TWO boxes of dead kittens have been found dumped in a layby in Bromsgrove.
A passerby found the boxes, which held seven dead kittens, dumped in Pumphouse Lane in Hanbury on Saturday, August 27.
The RSPCA were called to the scene and removed the bodies.
It is believed the kittens were only a couple of weeks old, as they had just opened their eyes. The RSPCA also believe the kittens were deliberately dumped in the layby, as one of the boxes was left open.
Photographs of the kittens were too horrifying to publish.
RSPCA animal welfare officer Thea Kerrison said: "This is a terribly sad situation for these poor young kittens.
“It is possible a mother cat was dumped in one of these boxes and she could be straying now.
“We would like anyone with any information about how these boxes came to be here.”
One of the boxes is brown, taped with masking tape and has a hole in the side. The other is a white box, left open with a cushion inside.
Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
