A COMBINED operation to target speeding and stop drugs entering HMP Hewell prison was a success, say police.
During the drive, officers caught a motorist driving whilst disqualified, a driver in possession of offensive weapons, some with no insurance and tax and one who obstructed police.
West Mercia Police launched the operation on Friday, July 15 in response to a number of community complaints.
Inspector Sarah Corteen from the Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Our local policing team worked with specialist roads policing officers and colleagues at DVLA to address the concerns of our local communities.
"As well as preventing and disrupting offending, we seized a car driven by a disqualified driver and took a quantity of offensive weapons out of circulation.
"Friday's operation contributes directly to our priority of protecting people from harm and shows the public that we will take positive action in addressing their concerns."
