IT was the annual awards evening at Bromsgrove Photographic Society recently, to celebrate the success of various club members throughout the year.

With an Oscars-like theme which brought out the dinner suits and bow ties, the society gave out 44 glass trophies covering 14 categories.

New members Rebekah Nash and Jenny Webster managed to sweep the board in a newly created novice class collecting 19 awards and 103 certificates of merit between them.

Chairman Roger Lewis said they both were “displaying such a high standard of work, it is hard to believe that Jenny and Rebekah have only been members for less than two years.”

Colin Close retained the Photographic Achievement trophy for 31 national and 60 international exhibition acceptances during the year.

Roger added: “The club has had another successful year, possibly our most successful, and I would like to congratulate all the winners on their achievements and also commend all the members who entered into the competitions throughout the year.”
