THE New Rose & Crown pub in Rubery is holding a charity night - complete with karaoke - to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday and raise money for Help for Heroes.
From 7pm on Saturday, June 11 the regulars from the New Road pub will be holding a disco night with a buffet and raffle to help provide better facilities for British servicemen and women who have been injured in the line of duty.
The pub recently held a similar event for St George's Day, raising £300 for the UK military charity - but staff and patrons are hoping to beat this figure this time around.
Raffle prizes include cinema tickets, a Hollywood Bowl family voucher, a meal for four at Generous George and two one-week passes for Nuffield gym.
Raffle tickets cost £1 and entry to the event is £2.50. Tickets are available from behind the bar and all proceeds will be donated to Help for Heroes.
