CHADSGROVE School combined three celebrations into one last week with an afternoon tea to celebrate their 40th birthday, the opening of their lower school playground and an 'outstanding' Ofsted result.

On Tuesday, April 26 three headteachers from the school's past and present joined the OneFamily foundation and Chadsgrove pupils for a day of activities and traditional British food.

Chadsgrove's headteacher from 1976 to 1990 David Nicholas stood alongside Richard Aust, head from 1990 to 2009 and current headteacher Deb Rattley to open the new playground, funded by a £25,000 donation from the OneFamily foundation.

Following an Ofsted inspection on January 12, the school were delighted to receive their second consecutive outstanding judgement.

The Ofsted report read: "Behaviour is excellent. Pupils are co-operative, enthusiastic and hardworking, and the school is welcoming, warm and friendly."

Headteacher Mrs Rattley said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised as being an ‘outstanding’ school for the second time in succession. There is a strong commitment to excellence throughout the school and we constantly strive to provide education and care of the highest standard.

"I am immensely proud of the pupils, staff, families and Governors and would like to congratulate them all on this superb achievement and thank them all for their commitment to our school."
