BROMSGOVE and District Stroke Club, which has been established for more than 30 years, is looking for new people to join it or it might be forced to close.

The club meets every Tuesday at Lowes Court, in Elm Grove, Bromsgrove and its members and friends have all been victims of a stroke in one way or another.

The club is looking for new members and would consider people with other types of problems.

A spokesman for the stroke club: "We consider it a social club for friends and family first and foremost. Sadly, due to a low turnout for the last few months it could well close, which would be a great shame."

It meets from 10am until 3pm and an average Tuesday would consist of gentle morning exercises, a cooked lunch at dinner time and entertainment in the afternoon.

Entertainment usually involves things such as quizzes, board games, bingo and sometimes even some music and singing. Included in the day is a tea or coffee with cake.

The spokesman added: "Volunteers are also required for this club as sadly everyone is getting older - some of the volunteers are older than the people who have suffered a stroke. Some new blood is needed to keep it going.

"Please support this worthwhile Bromsgrove club."

The cost for the day is £10 which covers all the mentioned activities and transport can be arranged by Bromsgrove Urban Road Transport (B.E.R.T).
