POLICE are advising the local community to be on their guard after a third robbery in Bromsgrove which they are treating as linked.

Two men robbed an elderly woman in Bromsgrove, at approximately 5.30pm on Thursday November 19 in Morris Close, Charford.

The men had their faces covered, and forced entry into the house as the elderly occupant came to answer the door.

They then knocked her down before leaving with cash and jewellery.

This incident is thought to be linked to two other offences of robbery which took place in Fairfield in Bromsgrove and St Johns in Worcester on Tuesday, November 17.

Detective Inspector Andy Gough, who is leading the investigation, said: "A thorough investigation into these incidents is underway and we are working hard to identify those responsible. We have increased our patrols and are urging the local community to be mindful and remain vigilant in their homes.

"With evenings getting darker we are asking everyone to be cautious with unexpected visitors. Always check to see who is at the door before you answer it and if you are in any doubt either call a friend or neighbour or call the police."

Anyone who has any further information in relation to this incident is asked to get in touch with police by calling 101 and quoting the incident 526s of the 19th November.
