YES - Christmas is coming, and a plea has already gone out to craftspeople and local businesses to get involved in Bromsgrove's first ever Christmas market, coming to town on November 20 and 21.

Bromsgrove District Council is teaming up with the Friends of St John's to bring the market to the town's event space.

It will be combined with the annual switch-on of the town's Christmas lights.

Local traders and crafters offering festive goods are encouraged to get in touch and take on a stall, costing £10 per table per day.

Friends of St John’s chairman Jo Slade said: "We are very excited about putting on a Christmas market in the town and are building on the relationship founded over the last few years with the MidWinterFest.

"We are focussing on locally made crafts and we are putting a call out to anyone in the district who would like a stall to come forward."

Alongside the craft stalls, the Friends group is also working with local business and entertainers to bring food, drink and music to the streets in the lead-up to the Christmas light switch on.

Council chairman, Councillor Caroline Spencer, said: “The atmosphere in the High Street is going to be fantastically festive this year with so much going on.

"I’ll be flipping the switch on the Christmas lights but I’ll be sure to have a shop around the craft stalls and Christmas market first."
