RESIDENTS with a disability can be bowled over by something new when they take part in an initiative being supported by Bromsgrove District Council.

Organised by Cerebral Palsy Sport England and Wales, BowlStart Day will offer participants aged eight-years-old and over the opportunity to try out indoor bowls.

It will be held at the Bromsgrove Indoor Bowls Club, in Austin Road, with which it has been organised with, along with Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire and the Bowls Development Alliance.

Bromsgrove District councillor Rod Laight, whose portfolio covers leisure, said: “As a council we are committed to providing opportunities for all of our residents to try something new."

The session is being held from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Friday, September 18, and costs £3.
